The Constitution of the Shore Baptist Church and a Covenant for Members
This document simply sets out the aims of the church and the structure and governance of the church. It can be read or downloaded here.
Our Basis of Faith
The constitution refers to the London Confession of Faith 1689 as expressing what we, as a church, believe are the Bible’s teachings, (also called doctrines), on certain key matters. In particular what we believe about:
- God
- The Bible
- Humankind
- Jesus
- Salvation
- The Holy Spirit
- The church
- The future
We regard the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 as an excellent, though not inspired, expression of the teaching of the Word of God. Because we acknowledge the word of God written to be the supreme authority in all matters of faith, morals, and order, we adopt these two historic documents as our doctrinal standards. We find them to be assistance in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and a means of edification in righteousness.
