India/Sri Lanka
The Proposed Trip to India and Sri Lanka, 2009.
When I was in India earlier this year (2008) for the fifteenth “Studies at Coonoor“, the young men put forward a proposal.
They proposed that plans be made for 50 young men to be present for the 2009 Studies, May 23-30.
That may not be an easy goal to reach. Things have become more difficult in the world generally over the past months. India itself is unsettled. It has never been particularly easy to convene these Studies in India.
Would you pray for me and this endeavor which I believe is producing some solid gains for the Gospel? I am now in contact with many more men than I was when I first began. My method of teaching and more importantly, the subject of my teaching, are now accepted by them. We are currently supporting or proposing to support ten young men in Seminaries in South India. Many more men in theological colleges and young pastors attend the Studies. The theology of God being glorified in all events in this world is making ground through the ministries of these men. Their dream of founding a Theological College is as clear as it was a few years back.
Would you pray
1. that I might be able to return to India in 2009 and also visit Sri Lanka again to spend time with some young pastors there? Getting a visa for India has always been a concern to me.
2. that the 100 volumes needed for the Studies will be freely given me by the publishing houses and safely arrive in India?
3. that fifty young men, hungry for a knowledge of God in Christ, would assemble at Coonoor on May 23 to meet with me?
4. that a young man in New Zealand would come forward to join me in India?
I look forward to your helping me in this way. Please feel free to ask me anything in regard to this proposed visit.
