By God’s absolute grace I can write this and say that all the glory belongs to Him.
By His grace alone, I was raised in a God honouring home by parents, who raised us in the fear of the Lord and by His grace alone I can say, that I have known a walk with the Lord my whole life. There are times when I have wandered away, with this heart of mine so prone to do that and so full of sin, but the Lord is gracious and His love has revealed my sinful heart and His abounding mercy.
Being raised in a Presbyterian home resulted in me understanding and believing in infant baptism and it is only during recent study that the Lord has so convicted me by his word in a study of Acts. Previously baptism had been confusing to me, conflicted by many emotions and view points read and explained but after studying Acts and especially reading and meditating on Acts 2:38 “And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” This following Jesus command in Matthew 28:19.
I have requested to be baptized based on Jesus command that I may be joined to the body of Christ receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. The words of the hymn ‘Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing’ are such a blessing to me in my walk with the Lord and I would like to share them.
